About the course

The first day of the course will take place on 2 November 2026. For the second day, participants can choose to attend on either 4 November 2026 or 5 November 2026, depending on their preference and availability.

This comprehensive two-day course offers an interactive learning experience aimed at filling gaps in the understanding and application of Motivational Interviewing. It provides additional skills, practice and development of helpful conversations around health needs, based on techniques used in Motivational Interviewing.

Learners will gain an understanding of what Motivational Interviewing is and why it is effective. The learning objectives are achieved through trainer-led facilitated simulations, where learners are guided to apply these skills to scenarios encountered in practice.

Learners will participate in a series of simulated scenarios using actors. Debriefing models will be used to help participants learn positively and constructively from the experience.
