Course description

This half-day Maudsley Masterclass will be of interest to all clinical and some non-clinical staff seeking to improve their knowledge and skills in working with children, young people, and families at the interface between physical and mental health needs.

The course will discuss the overlap between physical and mental health and some of the key challenges faced by clinical teams. Some of the topics covered include treatment compliance, behavioural issues, risk management, and school refusal. We will also look at staff wellbeing needs while working in this environment.

The course is delivered online in an interactive manner, using knowledge-sharing with experts, case vignettes, discussion of video material, and facilitated conversations. Consolidation of learning will be supported through learning material available pre- and post-course.

The content of the course has been developed with the help of experts by experience (patients and carers).
