Professor Edward K. Silberman

Dr. Silberman is Professor of Psychiatry at the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Silberman is Professor of Psychiatry at the Tufts University School of Medicine. He received his BA degree from Yale University and his MD from Tufts University. He completed training in psychiatry at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, where he held a Dupont Warren Research Fellowship at the Harvard Medical School, and training in psychoanalysis at the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Institute. Before coming to Tufts he held staff positions at the National Institute of Mental Health, the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and Jefferson Medical College. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Past President and Distinguished Life Fellow of the Association for Academic Psychiatry. He is the author, co-author, or editor of 80 publications in refereed journals, books, and book chapters. His recent publications have centered on psychiatric education and treatment of anxiety disorders.
