Dr Karine Macritchie
Lead Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Karine Macritchie studied physiology and medicine at the University of Glasgow, specialising in mood disorders during her training in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine with Commendation for her research on brain white matter structure in bipolar disorder at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Following this, she completed a post-doctoral study in mood disorders at the University of British Columbia. For the past six years, Dr Macritchie has served as the lead consultant psychiatrist at the innovative OPTIMA Mood Disorder Service, part of the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust.
