Dr Shubulade (Lade) Smith
Clinical Director for the Forensic Services
Dr Shubulade (Lade) Smith is the Clinical Director for the Forensic Service at SLaM. She is the Lead for the Acute Forensic Pathway and is responsible for admissions to the service.
Training: Dr Smith trained in medicine at Guy’s Hospital Medical School before completing her psychiatric training at the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospitals and Institute of Psychiatry.
Research/Special Interests: – Advancing mental health equality; Black mental health; intensive care and emergency psychiatry; side effects of psychotropic medications; physical health in SMI (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychotic disorders); women’s mental health; Mental Health Law.
Additionally she was ‘Psychiatrist of the year” for 2019.
