Dr Brendon Stubbs

Dr Brendon Stubbs research focuses on physical activity and mental health and the mind-body interface. Brendon has published over 500 International academic papers and is a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher in the field of PsychiatryPsychology (2019,2020). Brendon was lead author of the recently published European Psychiatric Association guidelines on the use of exercise for mental health and senior author on a recent Lancet commission to improve the physical health of people with mental health conditions. Brendon’s research is frequently featured in multiple media outlets such as the New York Times, TIME magazine, Forbes, CNN, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, BBC news, ITV news and Sky News (among others). Brendon has also has number 1 podcasts with Dr Rangan Chatterjee (https://drchatterjee.com/how-exercise-changes-your-brain-and-reduces-your-risk-of-depression/) and Deliciously Ella (https://deliciouslyella.com/podcast/how-exercise-impacts-on-the-brain-our-mental-health/). Brendon also published the first evidence-based book on how exercise can be used to improve people’s mental health with Dr Simon Rosenbaum.
