About the course

This one-day masterclass will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills to support dementia sufferers approaching their end of life.

The course will focus on the special needs of people with dementia, in many cases made more challenging by ill health. By the end of the day learners will feel confident in having early conversations about advanced decision-making as well as facilitating care planning at the end of life.

The learning outcomes and curriculum map to the End of Life Care Core Skills Education and Training Framework (Health Education England, 2017).

Learning objectives
Facilitate end of life care discussions utilising resources supporting patient care across the dementia pathway. Facilitate conversations about advanced decision-making with service users and families.
Educate service users and their families about the financial and legal frameworks available to them. Use the Gold Standards Framework to support the early identification of patients nearing the end of life.

Qualitative Research 1

Research

Let our team complete a full Training Needs Analysis for a department, directorate, or the whole hospital! We can work to complete this ourselves or work collaboratively with your own staff. Our standard outcome measures assess learner progress and produce a full report looking at wider impact of training using a range of tested assessment methodologies.
