About the course

Mental health disorders are a frequent cause of problems in the workplace as well as staff absences. This one-day course is aimed at medical, nursing and allied health professionals working in occupational health and covers the most important knowledge and skills to update busy clinicians in how best to assess psychiatric presentations in the workplace and develop return-to-work plans.

After taking this course you will have:  

  • Refreshed knowledge on a range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder  
  • Enhanced knowledge of personality disorders and how these interact with the mental health disorders above  
  • Increased knowledge about the range of pharmacological and psychological therapies used to treat and manage these disorders  
  • Increased confidence in managing mental health disorders and the role of occupational health clinicians in helping people back to work
