This workshop builds on the basic and ends on the latest research in non-medical treatments of depression. Behavioural Activation is an intervention of choice for depression and is widely used in psychology services. We will cover the assessment of patients with depression to identify problematic lifestyle, cognitive, and interpersonal factors, as well as how to make use of CBT for sleep, exercise, triple chronotherapy, and nutritional interventions in your management plans.
David Veale is a Consultant Psychiatrist and leads a national outpatient and residential unit service for people with severe treatment refractory Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and anxiety disorders at SLaM. He is a Visiting Professor in CBT at the IoPPN, KCL. He was a member of the group revising the diagnostic guidelines for ICD11 for Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders for the World Health Organisation.
